Ricardo “Bam” Parker, a defensive lineman for the Prattville Lions, announced his commitment to Troy University, joining the next chapter of his football journey.
A Recruit’s Journey
During his junior year he recorded 40 tackles, 14 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks, earning 1st Team All Defense honors from the Elmore Autauga News and drawing attention from across the state.
Parker said the decision came down to the people and coaches at Troy, a factor that resonated after seven campus visits and conversations with Defensive Lineman Coach Justin Manning, Director of Player Personnel Joe Discher and Head Coach Gerad Parker.
Prattville Head Coach Bobby Carr highlighted Parker’s work ethic and teammateship, noting the support he has received from both his high school coaches and the broader community.
Championship Dreams
His personal goal is to become the best player in the nation while helping the Lions chase a state championship, and he plans to study business, computer science or exercise physiology at Troy.
Beyond the field, Parker hopes to grow as a person and contribute to the next generation of athletes, a vision shaped by the mentorship he has received throughout his recruiting process.
