Richmond County Sheriff’s Office Announces Free Youth Basketball Camp

Sheriff Eugene “Gino Rock” Brantley Opens Camp for Local Kids

Sheriff Eugene “Gino Rock” Brantley and the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office are set to host their second annual Youth Basketball Camp, a free two‑day event designed to give local children a fun and supportive environment on the court.

A Community‑Focused Basketball Experience

The camp will take place on July 21 and 22, running from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day at Lucy C. Laney High School in Augusta, Georgia.

Open exclusively to Richmond County residents between the ages of 7 and 16, the program is offered at no charge, though space is limited and early registration is strongly encouraged.

Participants will work on fundamental basketball skills while also learning lessons in teamwork, leadership, sportsmanship and self‑confidence, all guided by volunteer coaches and sheriff’s office staff.

Beyond the game, the initiative reflects the office’s broader goal of investing in youth, promoting healthy lifestyles and building positive relationships between law‑enforcement and the community.

Families can secure a spot by visiting the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, where a registration link will be posted on Monday.
