Honoring a Legacy
Richmond Raceway has set aside two permanent seats in honor of NASCAR driver Denny Hamlin and his family, designating them in the Commonwealth section, Section H, Row 11, Seats 10‑11.
The gesture reflects a deep personal connection, as Hamlin spent his formative years in Virginia attending races at the track with his parents, forging a lifelong bond with the venue.
The tribute arrives after the Hamlin family endured the loss of patriarch Dennis Hamlin, who died in a fire in December 2025, a tragedy that has left the family navigating profound grief.
On the track, Hamlin continues to etch his name in Richmond’s history, having secured five career victories there, the latest coming in 2024, and currently tops the standings with three races left before the Chase.
Lori Collier Waran, who served as track president at the time of the announcement, championed the initiative and shared the news on social media, where Hamlin responded with gratitude, calling the honor a meaningful tribute.
The move underscores Richmond Raceway’s broader commitment to preserving the legacies of its most devoted supporters, ensuring that personal stories become part of the venue’s enduring narrative.
