A milestone weekend for Richmond
The 2026 NASCAR race weekend at Richmond Raceway will mark the track’s 80th anniversary, bringing together the Craftsman Truck Series and the premier Cup Series Cook Out 400 on August 14‑15.
Fans can expect the action to kick off at 7:30 p.m. on Friday with the Truck Series Black’s Tire 250, followed by the Cup Series event at 7 p.m. on Saturday, a schedule that has already drawn a full house of spectators.
The weekend’s narrative is underscored by Austin Dillon’s triumph in the previous Cook Out 400, a victory that propelled him into the Cup Series Playoffs, while Corey Heim added his seventh win of the season, positioning him as a championship contender.
Lori Waran, president of Richmond Raceway, described the atmosphere as electric, noting the palpable excitement of both fans and drivers as they converge on the historic venue.
Beyond the racing, the city of Petersburg, Virginia, will host a Trailways Classic Cruise‑In to commemorate America’s 250th anniversary, weaving local celebration into the national motorsport event.
