State Junior Legion Baseball Championship
The Hammond Lumber Co. Post 213 Riverhawks (White) captured the State Junior Legion Baseball Championship on Thursday, beating the Trenton Acadians 4-1 in a decisive showdown.
Collin Mehrhoff, who starred at third base and on the mound, was named Tournament MVP after delivering a standout performance that helped swing the game in his team’s favor.
The Riverhawks finished the season unbeaten, marking their first ever out‑of‑state baseball trip and redeeming a disappointing result from the previous year.
With the title secured, Post 213 will now travel to Manchester, New Hampshire, where they will compete in the Northeast tournament beginning Friday, aiming to extend their winning streak on a national stage.
