Carlos Rojas III, a standout quarterback from Riverside High School in El Paso, announced his commitment to the University of Texas at El Paso, choosing the Miners over other suitors.
A Dual‑Threat Weapon
The senior‑to‑be, who will be a senior in 2026, has been on UTEP’s recruiting radar since his freshman year, showcasing a rare blend of arm strength, speed and playmaking ability.
Coach Daniel Chavez has repeatedly highlighted Rojas III’s versatility, noting that the athlete can line up at receiver as well as in the backfield, giving the Miners a dynamic weapon in multiple formations.
In his most recent season, Rojas III amassed 2,279 rushing yards and 1,516 passing yards, while also recording 930 receiving yards as a freshman, underscoring his all‑purpose skill set.
Beyond football, the athlete is a key contributor to Riverside’s basketball and baseball squads, helping the Rangers compete in Class 4A, and his athletic profile continues to draw attention from college scouts.
