Rob Rassey, a Michigan native and former associate head coach at the University of Michigan, has been appointed head coach of Harvard’s men’s ice hockey program, taking over from Ted Donato, the winningest coach in program history.
A Coach With a Championship Pedigree
During his four seasons with the Wolverines, Rassey helped the team capture two Big Ten tournament titles and reach three Frozen Four appearances, while also mentoring two Hobey Baker Award winners.
Harvard athletic director Erin McDermott highlighted Rassey’s deep belief in college athletics and his leadership qualities, noting his extensive experience both as a player and a coach.
Looking Ahead
Excited to return to Cambridge, Rassey said he is eager to lead the Crimson into its next chapter, building on the program’s rich tradition while aiming for new heights on the national stage.
