The Rochester Americans announced a significant addition to their coaching roster, appointing Scott Moser as an assistant coach and Neil Conway as the team’s goaltending coach for the upcoming season.
Moser, who most recently served as associate head coach at the University of Vermont, brings a wealth of experience that spans both collegiate play and international competition, having guided Slovakia through five World Junior Championships.
His playing and coaching tenure at Canisius College, decorated with multiple awards, further underscores his deep roots in the sport.
Conway, meanwhile, arrives after a successful stint as director of goaltending for the USHL’s Youngstown Phantoms, where he developed Tobias Trejbal into the league’s Goaltender of the Year and mentored Jacob Fowler, now a prospect with the Montreal Canadiens.
Together, the two coaches are expected to strengthen the Amerks’ player development pipeline, leveraging Moser’s broad coaching background and Conway’s specialized expertise between the pipes.
Strategic Vision for the Club
Leadership emphasized the strategic intent behind the hires, underscoring a commitment to nurturing talent and enhancing competitiveness within the AHL.
The organization highlighted the broader impact of these appointments on the franchise’s reputation, noting the involvement of alumni and partners who have voiced support for the new direction.
