During a recent session, the Rock Springs City Council addressed a series of municipal items that touched on public safety, recreation, and municipal maintenance.
Key Decisions Unveiled
The council gave the green light to a proposal that would allow the Rock Springs Police Department to solicit bids for a lease on six new patrol vehicles, aiming to modernize the department’s fleet and improve response capabilities across the city.
In a separate agenda item, the body tabled a resolution concerning a contract with the Rock Springs Amateur Hockey Association for use of the city’s ice arena, with Mayor Max Mickelson requesting extra time for the association to review the terms before a vote could be taken.
The proposed agreement would run from September through March 2027, aligning with the typical hockey season and providing the association with consistent access to the arena for practices and games.
Council members also examined a bid request for new lighting at the Rock Springs Cemetery, but because no submissions were received by the deadline, the matter was left untouched for future consideration.
