The Rockingham County Baseball League announced the cancellation of its annual All-Star Game, a decision driven by a cascade of rain‑related delays that compressed the schedule.
An RCBL spokesperson explained that the league exhausted all options to find a viable date, but the accumulation of makeup games left little room for a new slot without jeopardizing the regular season.
Originally slated for July 18, the contest was to be staged at Broadway’s home field, where the Broadway Bruins were slated to serve as hosts.
With the game now off the books, Broadway will keep its designation as the 2027 All-Star Game venue, ensuring continuity for the tradition.
In addition, the league confirmed that the Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be folded into the final series of the playoffs, giving the ceremony a larger stage.
