Roger Craig, a former Nebraska standout, will be enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2026, becoming the sixth former Husker to receive the honor.
A Milestone Career
Over an 11‑year NFL career, Craig made his mark primarily with the San Francisco 49ers, where he contributed to three Super Bowl victories and earned four Pro Bowl selections.
His 1985 season remains a benchmark; he became the first player ever to amass 1,000 rushing yards and 1,000 receiving yards in the same year, a feat that still defines versatility.
At Nebraska, Craig compiled 2,446 rushing yards and 26 touchdowns, laying the groundwork for a professional career that blended power and agility.
The 2026 induction class also features Drew Brees, Larry Fitzgerald, Luke Kuechly and Adam Vinatieri, and the ceremony will take place on August 8 at 11 a.m. CT in Canton, Ohio.
Craig’s legacy extends beyond statistics; his journey from Iowa roots to Nebraska stardom to NFL glory continues to inspire players and fans alike.
