A Night of Power Hitting
The evening air at the local diamond was electric as Roland-Story’s offense erupted for twenty runs, leaving Ogden scrambling to keep pace. The final score, 20-4, underscored the Eagles’ relentless attack and sealed a decisive end to the Bulldogs’ season.
Ogden managed just three hits, but each carried weight. Christian Thede doubled and later crossed the plate, while Thomas Bergstrom drove in two runs and added two strikeouts in relief. The limited offensive output reflected a season-long struggle for the Bulldogs, who finished with a 14-18 record overall and a 9-11 mark in the West Central Activities Conference.
Roland-Story, meanwhile, improved to a staggering 36-3 and now turns its focus to a much-anticipated matchup against Pocahontas Area at Clarion-Goldfield-Dows High School. The Eagles’ consistency at the plate and poise on the mound have made them a formidable force as they chase another deep run in the tournament.
Behind the scenes, Ogden’s roster featured several standout performers who left their mark throughout the campaign. Colson Carson led the team with 35 hits and 20 RBIs, while Keagan Ristvedt contributed 30 hits. Brody Burdette added 27 hits and 10 RBIs, Treyton Mitchell collected 22 hits and a team-high 14 RBIs, and Christian Thede chipped in 20 hits. Pitcher Carson also anchored the staff with eight victories and 83 strikeouts.
The upcoming clash with Pocahontas Area promises to be a test of endurance and strategy. Both teams hail from Iowa’s competitive high school circuit, and the Eagles will need to leverage their depth and experience to navigate a hostile environment at Clarion-Goldfield-Dows High School.
