The Romanian national beach soccer side announced its withdrawal from the Euro Beach Soccer League Division B Georgia 2026, which is set to run from 15 to 19 July in Batumi. The decision followed the official draw and came after the Romanian Football Federation confirmed it could no longer field a team despite ongoing attempts to find a solution.
Beach Soccer Worldwide (BSWW) had been in contact with the Georgian Football Federation to explore possibilities for Romania’s participation, but after exhaustive consultations a viable arrangement could not be secured. Consequently, the competition will proceed with a modified lineup.
Revised Group Structure
Group B will now feature Latvia, Azerbaijan, England and Slovakia, while Group A consists of the host nation Georgia, Malta and Norway. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi‑finals, and a round‑robin mini‑group will decide the final rankings from fifth to seventh place.
BSWW has approved the updated match schedule to preserve the sporting integrity of the event. The organization also took the opportunity to thank the Georgian and Ajarian Football Federations for their cooperation throughout the process.
Looking ahead, BSWW reaffirmed its commitment to the development and promotion of beach soccer, emphasizing that the tournament will still provide a platform for emerging talent and competitive play despite the recent changes.
