The ECHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames adds experienced junior captain to its roster

A New Chapter for the Rush

The Rapid City Rush, the ECHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames, announced today that they have signed forward Deagan McMillan to a contract for the 2026‑27 season, marking the start of the player's professional career.

McMillan brings five years of junior hockey experience, most recently captaining the Vernon Vipers of the British Columbia Hockey League, where he led the team with 21 goals and logged 120 penalty minutes in 42 games.

During that season he accumulated 42 points, placing him second on the Vipers in scoring, and his leadership helped the club remain competitive in the league.

Before returning to the B.C. circuit, McMillan spent four seasons in the Western Hockey League, honing his skills before rejoining the Vipers and now embarking on his professional journey with the Rush.
