Renovations Underway at Rosedale/Kidwiler Park
The city of Frederick has announced that a major renovation of the basketball court at Rosedale/Kidwiler Park will commence on June 18, 2026. The work is part of a broader effort to upgrade the park’s recreational facilities and improve the playing surface.
During the construction period, the court will be completely closed to users. Officials have indicated that the project is expected to take roughly one week, after which the court will reopen with fresh markings and improved drainage.
Facilities Remain Accessible
While the basketball court is closed, the pavilion and playground adjacent to the court will remain fully operational throughout the renovation. Families, seniors and other visitors can continue to enjoy those spaces without interruption.
A statement released by the municipal parks department expressed regret for any inconvenience the temporary closure may cause, noting that the upgrades are intended to benefit the entire community in the long term.
Local residents have been encouraged to plan alternative activities during the short closure, and the city has pledged to keep the public informed of any schedule changes through its website and social media channels.
