A Strategic Promotion Within the Program
Princeton’s men’s basketball program has elevated Ross Brenner to the role of Director of Operations, a move that reflects the university’s confidence in his blend of technical acumen and on‑court experience.
Brenner first came to prominence as the Tigers’ video coordinator during the 2025‑26 season, where he managed all aspects of film production, scouting, and practice development. His background in video analysis gave the staff a modern edge in preparing for opponents.
Prior to his tenure at Princeton, Brenner honed his skills at Northwestern University, serving two seasons as a graduate assistant under head coach Chris Collins. In that capacity he contributed to player development and oversaw numerous operational duties that kept the program running smoothly.
His professional journey also includes a four‑year stint at Syracuse University, where he began as a student manager and later led the university’s men’s club basketball team to an 11‑4 record. At Syracuse he was responsible for operations assistance, film breakdown, and statistical annotation, further diversifying his skill set.
Brenner’s academic credentials complement his practical experience. He earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Syracuse in 2023, followed by a master’s in sports administration from Northwestern.
Mitch Henderson, the head coach of Princeton’s varsity team, expressed enthusiasm about Brenner’s promotion, noting that his comprehensive understanding of the program’s inner workings will streamline administrative processes and allow coaches to focus on strategy and execution.
In his new role, Brenner will oversee the day‑to‑day logistics of the basketball operation, coordinate travel and scheduling, and continue to support the video department’s integration with broader team objectives. His appointment signals a continued emphasis on blending analytical insight with traditional coaching philosophies.
