A Match That Bridges Nations
Rotary District 7950 is set to host a globally themed social gathering and live soccer broadcast on June 23, inviting residents of Greater Brockton to celebrate international fellowship through sport.
The event will take place at The Arc of Greater Brockton, located at 1250 W. Chestnut St., where doors open at 3 p.m. and the England‑versus‑Ghana match begins streaming at 4 p.m.
Four district committees — Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging; Peacebuilding and Conflict Prevention; Membership; and Public Image — are co‑sponsoring the livestream, underscoring Rotary’s commitment to using athletics as a bridge between cultures.
Beyond the match, the program aims to raise awareness of pressing issues such as systemic corruption in professional sports and human trafficking, encouraging attendees to consider how Rotary can protect the vulnerable and promote ethical leadership worldwide.
Admission is free, but registration is required. Organizers hope the gathering will inspire participants to think critically about Rotary’s role in fostering global justice and peace.
