The fifth‑ranked Rowan University baseball squad is set to open its NCAA Gorham Regional campaign on May 15, taking on RIT at 11 a.m. on the campus of the University of Southern Maine.
The Profs, who finished the season at 32‑5 and captured the New Jersey Athletic Conference championship on May 2, enter the double‑elimination tournament as the top seed in their pod.
Friday’s opening games were postponed due to heavy rain that swept through the region, pushing the schedule into Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
Regional Landscape
Southern Maine will meet Babson in the second game of the pod, while the winner of the Rowan‑RIT matchup will advance to face the survivor of that contest in later rounds.
The Regional champion will earn a berth in the Super Regionals slated for May 22 and 23, a stage that the Profs have targeted since the season’s early weeks.
The team has been emphasizing consistency and discipline as they prepare for the rain‑shortened slate, hoping to translate their conference dominance into national contention.
