Rowan County American Legion posted a 14-7 win over High Point in Game 3 of their best-of-five playoff series, moving ahead 2-1.
The offense exploded in the second inning, where Rowan scored eight runs, half of them courtesy of Maddox Moore’s first Legion grand slam. Jayven Parks added two homers, including a solo shot in the third and a two-run blast in the sixth, while Cameron Williamson contributed a two-run double.
Game 4 Outlook
Game 4 is set for Saturday at Finch Field, kicking off at 5 p.m. The winner will advance to the state tournament, making the upcoming contest a pivotal showdown.
Coach Seth Graham lauded the team’s execution, especially Parks and Moore, and stressed the need to keep the momentum against a High Point squad that has opened scoring in the first inning of three straight games.
On the mound, Brant Graham limited High Point to three earned runs over five innings, scattering five hits and walking three. Dylan Alexander closed out the final two frames, and Rowan’s right‑fielder Cole Blevins threw out a runner at the plate to seal the fourth‑inning rally.
High Point’s Levi Ponder collected three hits, and left‑hander Connor Park is slated to start for Rowan in Game 4.
