Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) has unveiled its full slate for the 2026‑27 men’s ice hockey campaign, a schedule that blends early‑season excitement with a rigorous ECAC Hockey slate.
The Engineers will appear in 34 regular‑season contests, of which 17 are slated for home ice at the historic Houston Field House, giving fans ample reason to fill the stands across Troy.
The season opens with an exhibition tilt against Army on October 3, followed by a four‑game home stretch that sets the tone for the early months, before the team hits the road for its first away series at RIT in late October.
Highlights include a two‑game showdown with Ohio State in Troy on October 9‑10, back‑to‑back meetings with LIU on October 16‑17, and a rivalry weekend against Union College on October 30‑31 that marks the start of ECAC play.
Key Rivalries and Milestones
Later in the year, RPI will host Brown and Yale in November, travel to face St. Lawrence and Clarkson in early November, and then engage in a Capital District Mayor’s Cup against Union in Glens Falls on January 23, a game that will be played at the Harding Mazzotti Arena.
The schedule culminates with a final home weekend against Princeton and Quinnipiac in mid‑February, before the regular season wraps up on the road against Cornell and Colgate in late February.
