Rustburg Youth Baseball is set to make a splash on the national stage as two of its teams gear up for the Dixie Youth World Series in Mississippi.
A First‑Year Triumph
The 10U squad, composed of players between eight and ten years old, is entering its inaugural travel‑ball season. For many of the youngsters, the tournament marks their first experience competing outside the familiar confines of local fields.
Coaches have watched the team evolve, noting improvements not only in pitching and hitting but also in teamwork and sportsmanship. Coach Jarad Hagner praised the players’ resilience, saying they have responded to challenges with a steady, positive attitude.
Community Backing and Upcoming Matches
The Ozone team will open pool play against Texas at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, followed by the 10U team’s showdown with Arkansas at 1:30 p.m. Both games will be streamed live on YouTube, giving fans across the country a chance to follow the action.
Local supporters have organized watch parties and are cheering from the sidelines, underscoring how the tournament has become a rallying point for the Rustburg community.
