Grand Marshal Spotlight
The 86th Sturgis Motorcycle Rally will feature a special short‑track showcase on August 10, headlined by NASCAR Hall of Famer Rusty Wallace as Grand Marshal for the Caterpillar Jackpine Gypsies event.
Wallace, a 1989 NASCAR Cup Series champion with 55 career victories, also earned the 1984 Rookie of the Year award and captured the 1991 International Race of Champions title. His induction into the NASCAR Hall of Fame and other motorsports halls of fame underscore a career that spanned decades of American racing.
On August 14, Wallace will host the Rusty Wallace Charity Ride in Deadwood, South Dakota. The event’s proceeds will support two charitable partners: the NASCAR Foundation and Special Olympics of South Dakota.
Expressing his enthusiasm, Wallace said he is thrilled to combine his love of Sturgis, motorcycles, and short‑track competition, noting the unique atmosphere of the historic Jackpine Gypsies Motorcycle Club.
The rally’s pre‑race festivities will be coordinated with AMA Pro Racing, adding a motorsport‑focused layer to the celebration of two‑wheel culture.
