Rutgers Unveils 2026 Men’s Soccer Calendar
Rutgers University has officially released its 2026 men’s soccer schedule, marking the start of a 16‑match campaign that opens on August 20. The slate is designed to build on last season’s 8‑6‑3 overall record and a 3‑5‑2 mark in conference play, with the program eyeing a return to the NCAA tournament.
Nine of those contests will be played on the familiar confines of Yurcak Field, beginning with a late‑August showdown against American University. Just three days later the Scarlet Knights travel to face Georgetown, setting the tone for a season that blends home comfort with road challenges.
Road Tests and Tournament Rematches
On the road, Rutgers will test itself against powerhouses Ohio State and the University of Washington, the latter of which captured the national championship last year. The itinerary also includes trips to Indiana, Michigan, and Penn State, all teams that advanced to the tournament a season ago.
October brings a return to Piscataway for games against Northwestern and Maryland, while the final five fixtures alternate between home and away, promising a crescendo of competition as the season winds down.
Overall, the schedule is stacked with six opponents that reached the NCAA tournament last year, a testament to the program’s ambition to compete at the highest level and to fine‑tune its approach before the postseason.
