The victory was achieved under the banner of Team Penske, the organization that has together with Ford amassed 109 Cup victories. Ford’s racing pedigree stretches back to the sport’s early days. In 1950, Ned Jarrett, a NASCAR Hall of Famer, claimed 43 of his 50 Cup wins while driving Ford machines, and the following year Jimmy Florian, an Ohio native, earned a home‑state victory at Dayton Speedway while racing shirtless — a testament to the informal rules of the era. Over the years, Ford has celebrated 12 championships and has been the manufacturer behind 91 different Cup winners, a list that began with the first Ford victory on June 25, 1950.
