A New Chapter for NASCAR on YouTube
The series, titled "On The Gas with Ryan Blaney," will launch on July 1 and consists of four episodes that place celebrity guests and popular YouTube creators behind the wheel of a stock car. Each episode pairs high‑speed laps with unscripted conversation, letting participants feel the rush of NASCAR while engaging in candid dialogue with Blaney.
Blaney, the 2023 Cup Series champion, will guide his guests through the track, asking spontaneous questions that reveal both the technical side of the cars and the personal stories of the participants. The format is designed to be as much about human connection as it is about racing thrills.
The Creative Vision Behind the Series
John Dahl, senior vice president of original content at NASCAR, described the project as a fresh example of innovative storytelling that leverages YouTube’s global audience. "We wanted to capture the raw excitement of the sport in a way that feels immediate and relatable," Dahl said, emphasizing the partnership’s goal to broaden NASCAR’s digital footprint.
The series is being produced by FULL SPEED ENTERTAINMENT, a collaboration between NASCAR Studios and Words + Pictures. The production team has assembled a lineup of high‑profile guests, including comedian Keegan‑Michael Key, former NFL star Chad Ochocinco, and digital creators Westen Champlin and The Stradman, each bringing a distinct perspective to the driver’s seat.
Beyond this series, Blaney has already expanded his media presence with appearances in projects such as "NASCAR vs. The Navy" and "Eli Manning Presents: The Undercovers," signaling a continued push to blend sports with entertainment across multiple platforms.
