Ryan Conroy Joins Atlanta Gladiators Ahead of 2026‑27 Campaign
The Atlanta Gladiators announced this week that Ryan Conroy has signed a contract to wear their jersey for the upcoming 2026‑27 ECHL season, cementing the defenseman’s return after a strong showing in the previous campaign.
During the 2025‑26 season Conroy recorded 17 points, comprising five goals and twelve assists, while posting a plus‑six rating across 67 games for Atlanta. He also contributed a goal and an assist in six playoff appearances, helping the club navigate the Kelly Cup series.
Midway through the season the coaching staff named him an alternate captain, a testament to the respect he has earned in the locker room. His leadership was on display when he helped the Gladiators secure key victories during a tightly contested stretch in February.
Conroy’s journey to the professional ranks began in Chestermere, Alberta, where he honed his skills before moving east to play three seasons at Yale University. At Yale he amassed 22 points in 91 games, a solid collegiate foundation that preceded stints with the Adirondack Thunder and a trade to the Gladiators after the 2024‑25 season.
Now 25, the defenseman brings a blend of offensive upside and defensive reliability. With a career‑high 29 points in 71 games for the Thunder during the 2024‑25 campaign, he is expected to anchor the blue line and contribute offensively as the Gladiators aim for a deep playoff run.
