Temple High School has named Ryan Pinkerton as its new Head Baseball Coach, a move that underscores the district’s commitment to continuity and growth within its athletic programs.
A Coach With a Multifaceted Background
Pinkerton arrives after several years of service within Temple ISD, where he has taught World History, coached the Wildcat football team as a running backs specialist, and served as an assistant baseball coach. His hands‑on approach has already made him a familiar presence to outfielders, hitters and baserunners alike.
Beyond his school responsibilities, Pinkerton brings a distinguished military record to the dugout. He served as a Joint Fires Observer in the United States Army from 2016 to 2020, coordinating critical support operations and honing leadership skills under intense pressure.
His academic foundation includes a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management with a minor in General Business from Texas Tech University, where he also contributed as a student assistant to the Red Raider Football program.
Vision for the Program
Expressing enthusiasm for his new role, Pinkerton emphasized his desire to foster success both on the baseball field and in the personal development of his players. He highlighted the importance of discipline, teamwork and character building, values he cultivated during his military service.
Community members and fellow coaches alike have praised Pinkerton’s energy and dedication, noting that his leadership style is expected to inspire student‑athletes to excel not only in sports but also in life.
