A Strategic Addition for the Wildcats
Northwestern University announced the addition of Ryan Soulis to its men’s basketball roster for the upcoming 2026‑27 season, reinforcing the Wildcats’ frontcourt with a player who blends size, defensive instincts and international exposure.
Standing 6‑foot‑10 and weighing 230 pounds, Soulis brings a physical presence that complements the team’s perimeter dynamics. His high school career at Asheville School in North Carolina saw him average 12 points per game and help his squad reach the NCISAA 3A State Championship semifinals.
During his lone season at Richmond, the forward’s campaign was cut short by a foot injury, but his prior stint at Columbia proved productive. There he posted 5.8 points and 4.6 rebounds per game while ranking fifth in the Ivy League for block percentage, underscoring his shot‑blocking ability.
Soulis also gained valuable experience on the world stage, averaging 5.3 points and 5.0 rebounds for Greece at the 2025 FIBA U20 EuroBasket, a tournament that highlighted his adaptability against diverse competition.
Coach Chris Collins expressed confidence that the new recruit will contribute immediately, noting that Soulis’s defensive skill set aligns with the program’s emphasis on disciplined, aggressive play.
