Ryleigh Heck’s love for field hockey began in third grade, when a televised USA national team match sparked a childhood fascination that soon turned into a serious pursuit. Hailing from New Jersey, she honed her skills in club leagues before stepping onto the varsity field at Eastern High School, where she quickly became a standout.
During her high school tenure, Heck led Eastern to four sectional titles, three NJSIAA Group 4 championships and the Tournament of Champions crown, finishing with a record 125 goals that still stands as a national benchmark. Her prolific scoring earned her recognition as a top recruit, paving the way for a scholarship at the University of North Carolina.
