Ryun Williams, the winningest head coach in Colorado State University women's basketball history, has agreed to extend his contract through 2031, locking in his leadership as the Rams prepare for a new era in the Pac‑12.
The extension comes after a decade and a half of dominance that saw Williams compile 281 victories in 14 seasons, including four consecutive Mountain West Conference regular‑season titles and a string of 20‑plus win campaigns.
A milestone contract
Williams' record includes a Mountain West tournament championship in his final year in the league, a berth in the NCAA Tournament and a narrow loss to fifth‑seeded Michigan State that underscored the program's rising profile.
Under his guidance the Rams have posted double‑digit conference titles, developed players who excel both on the court and in the community, and earned multiple MWC Coach of the Year honors, with Williams himself a finalist for the 2024‑25 WBCA NCAA Division I Coach of the Year award.
Longtime assistant John Weber celebrated the news alongside Williams, reflecting the continuity and cohesion of the coaching staff that has helped sustain the program's success.
The contract extension not only secures Williams' vision for the program through the transition to the Pac‑12 but also signals a commitment from the university to maintain its competitive edge in women's basketball.
