Saint Francis University has named Nathan Cullo and Daunte Wilcott as the newest assistants on the men's basketball coaching staff for the 2026‑27 season, a move announced by head coach Luke McConnell that underscores the program's push to deepen its player‑development pipeline.
A double‑dose of PSAC pedigree
Cullo arrives after three seasons at PennWest Edinboro, where he helped the team to back‑to‑back PSAC playoff runs and recruited five All‑Conference selections, while also completing a master's degree in Exercise Science and Health.
Before coaching, Cullo starred at Clarion University and at Vincentian Academy in Pittsburgh, amassing more than 1,000 points, capturing two WPIAL titles and finishing as a PIAA runner‑up, experiences that give him a strong local connection.
Wilcott, a graduate assistant, brings a playing résumé that includes stints at Medaille College and Edinboro, where he surpassed 1,000 career points, earned Third Team All‑Conference honors and helped the team win a conference championship and advance to the NCAA Division III tournament.
Both hires reflect the university's intent to blend proven collegiate experience with regional talent, a strategy that head coach Luke McConnell says will sharpen the Red Wolves' competitiveness as they open the season on November 6 against Susquehanna University.
The incoming staff members also carry academic credentials — Cullo's master's work and Wilcott's bachelor's in Sport Management — highlighting the program's emphasis on holistic player development.
With the new assistants in place, the Red Wolves hope to translate their recent recruiting successes into on‑court breakthroughs, aiming to climb the PSAC standings and make a deeper run in the conference playoffs.
