Saint John's University's football program has entered the 2026 season with a preseason ranking that reflects the momentum built over the previous year.

Lindy's Division III Preseason Top 10 poll places the Johnnies at No. 9, marking the second consecutive year the publication has released a top‑10 list.
The ranking comes on the heels of a 10‑2 record in 2025, a season that saw the team climb as high as No. 8 in the final AFCA poll and earn its 34th postseason appearance.
Statistical Dominance
The Johnnies topped NCAA Division III in third‑down conversion rate at 58.7 percent while surrendering just 2.25 tackles for loss per game, the fewest in the division.
On offense, Saint John's ranked second nationally in both passing yards per game (364.8) and scoring (47.3 points per game).
Quarterback Trey Feeney's Rise
Quarterback Trey Feeney emerged as one of the nation's most efficient passers, finishing third in Division III with a 72.8 percent completion rate.
He also ranked fifth in passing touchdowns (40) and seventh in efficiency (176.3), underscoring his pivotal role in the offense.
The 2026 schedule opens on September 5 at Wisconsin‑La Crosse, and the team will host No. 3 Bethel during Family Weekend on October 3, setting up early tests against top‑ranked opponents.
