Salado High School is set to open a brand‑new 250,000‑square‑foot campus for the 2026‑27 academic year, a project that reflects the district’s rapid growth and the community’s commitment to modern education.
A Stadium Built for More Than Just Games
The centerpiece of the development is a football stadium that can seat between 5,000 and 5,700 spectators, depending on its configuration. The venue will host the district’s inaugural game against Troy on August 28, and head coach Ricky Beaty has said he envisions it becoming one of Central Texas’ premier high‑school football facilities.
A Complete Athletic Hub
Beyond the stands, the complex houses a state‑of‑the‑art weight room, modern locker rooms, dedicated coaches’ offices, meeting spaces and a sports‑medicine center, allowing Salado’s programs to conduct practices and competitions entirely on campus, eliminating the need for off‑site travel.
Career and Technical Education Meets Modern Demand
The new campus also expands career and technical education, offering dedicated spaces for robotics, health science, welding, veterinary technology, media production and culinary arts, programs that align with the district’s growing enrollment and the region’s workforce needs.
Leadership Looks to the Future
Assistant superintendent Ted Smith noted that the facilities finally match the quality of the district’s students and community, while district leaders emphasized that the expansion honors the 2025 boys soccer team, which captured the school’s first state championship.
With enrollment nearly doubling over the past decade under district leadership, the new campus is positioned to sustain Salado’s unique community culture for years to come.
