Salma Paralluelo, the 22‑year‑old Spanish forward who has been a mainstay for Barcelona’s women’s side, is poised to depart the club as a free agent after she turned down the latest contract proposal.
A stellar career at Barcelona
During her four‑year spell she helped the Catalan club capture four league championships and three UEFA Women’s Champions League titles, while also contributing two decisive goals in the 2026 final that secured a 4‑0 victory over Lyon.
Her performances have attracted interest from several European clubs competing in the Champions League, and Barcelona’s management acknowledges that meeting her salary expectations proved untenable.
Having arrived from Villarreal in 2022, Paralluelo quickly became a key figure in the Spain senior squad, earning 51 caps and playing a pivotal role in the nation’s 2023 World Cup triumph and the recent European Championship final run.
The club had previously indicated willingness to sell her during the summer 2025 window and again in the January 2026 transfer period, but the lack of an agreement has now cleared the way for a move that is expected to keep her within Europe’s elite competition.
