Sam Dubwig, a 6‑foot‑4, 215‑pound punter originally from Cabot, Arkansas, arrives at Purdue with a résumé that includes being named an All‑American Punter during his senior year of high school.
After redshirting the 2024 season with the Arkansas Razorbacks, Dubwig transferred to West Lafayette and spent the 2025 campaign on the sidelines, appearing in no games for the Boilermakers.
A New Chapter for Purdue's Special Teams
His competition for the starting role will come from Dylan Drennan, a punter who logged 65 punts in the previous season while at the University of Buffalo, bringing collegiate experience to the mix.
Coaches have emphasized that the punter position is a linchpin for Purdue’s defense, as precise field position can shift momentum and shorten opponent drives.
The upcoming 2026 season will serve as the proving ground for Dubwig, whose performance is expected to be a key factor in the Boilermakers’ overall success.
