Florida State announced that Sam Erbach, a junior forward who transferred from Xavier University, was selected as the first 'Nole of the Week' for the fall 2026 campaign after finding the back of the net in her very first official appearance for the program. The goal came during a 4-0 victory over Stetson, setting an early tone for the Seminoles' offense.
A Quick Rise at Xavier
During her sophomore year at Xavier, Erbach posted 18 goals and 16 assists, establishing herself as a playmaker and earning Big East Co-Midfielder of the Year honors while also being named to the All-Big East First Team. Her performances earned her a place on the United Soccer Coaches Third Team All-American list, underscoring her impact beyond conference play.
Erbach described the move to Tallahassee as a natural progression, citing the high competitive level of the Atlantic Coast Conference and the welcoming environment created by the coaching staff. She highlighted the supportive atmosphere within the program as a key factor in her smooth transition.
Goals for the Season
Looking ahead, Erbach said her primary objective is to contribute offensively by adding goals and assists throughout the schedule. She expressed a desire to help the Seminoles chase another national championship, a target that has become a central theme in the team's preparations.
Off the field, the forward enjoys running, maintains close ties with her family, and follows Gotham and the U.S. Women’s National Team. Her favorite athlete is Mallory Swanson, a connection that reflects her admiration for dynamic attacking play.
