Samford Soccer Announces 2026 Schedule with Home Opener Against Belmont

Exhibition matches and a demanding Southern Conference slate set the stage for a competitive season

A packed 2026 campaign

Samford University revealed its 2026 men's soccer schedule, a calendar that blends early road challenges with a series of home fixtures at Shauna Yelton Field. The campaign opens with exhibition games at Ole Miss on August 4 and at Western Kentucky on August 7 before the regular season opener at Notre Dame on August 12.

The first home appearance comes on August 16, when Belmont visits Birmingham for a 6 p.m. kickoff. A week later the Bulldogs host Georgia State at the same hour, followed by a home match against South Alabama on August 23. The early stretch also includes a visit to South Carolina's The Citadel on August 27 and a home game versus Jacksonville State on August 30.

Non‑conference play continues with a series of road trips to Alabama on September 3 and to Auburn on September 6, before a home showdown with UAB on September 10. The schedule then shifts to Southern Conference competition, beginning with a September 20 match at Western Carolina.

Conference battles and tournament outlook

Southern Conference play unfolds through October, featuring home games against Mercer on September 25, Wofford on October 1, and a road test at Chattanooga on October 15. The regular season concludes with a November 1 trip to VMI, setting the stage for the Southern Conference Tournament that begins on November 5 at campus sites.

All tournament games will be held on campus, and admission to every home soccer match is free. Athletic director Todd Yelton emphasized the importance of the early road tests in preparing the squad for the rigors of conference play.
