A Strategic Addition for the Golden Grizzlies
Oakland University announced the addition of junior guard Samone Andrews to its women's basketball roster, a move that underscores the program's intent to deepen its backcourt ahead of the 2026 season.
Known for a tenacious defensive style, Andrews brings a level of veteran poise that coaches say will complement the team's existing dynamics.
During her sophomore campaign she averaged 13.8 points per game while shooting .434 from the field, and she recorded 24 double‑digit scoring performances, including two 25‑point outings.
Her collegiate journey began at Rochester Christian University, where she was recognized on the WHAC All‑Defensive First Team and earned Second Team All‑Conference honors, and prior to that she dominated at Macomb Dakota High School, capturing BCAM First Team All‑State honors.
The coaching staff believes her size, experience and instant offensive contribution will provide the depth needed to compete at a higher level, positioning the Golden Grizzlies for a stronger finish.
