Elite rushing attack returns
The Aztecs’ ground game was among the nation’s most potent in 2025, compiling 2,583 rushing yards and 25 touchdowns. At the heart of that production was senior back Lucky Sutton, who logged 1,297 yards and earned a Doak Walker semifinalist nod while also landing on the All‑Mountain West First Team. His blend of power and vision has made him a natural mentor for younger teammates.
Coach Darian Hagan, now in his third season as running back coach, has built a stable that includes Sutton and transfer Javion Kinnard. Hagan stresses leadership and collective success, often using Sutton’s disciplined work ethic as a model for the entire backfield.
