A Season of Redemption
The Sandy Valley Cardinals are set to open their 2026 high school football campaign on August 20, a date that marks both anticipation and a fresh start for the program after a winless 2025 season.
Competing in Division V, Region 17, the team will face a slate of opponents that includes Fairless, Norton, Minerva, East Canton, Malvern, Claymont, Garaway, Ridgewood, Indian Valley and Tusky Valley.
All regular‑season games are scheduled to kick off at 7 p.m., providing a consistent evening slot for players, families and fans.
Playoff Outlook and Championship Venues
The state playoffs are slated to begin on October 30, with the OHSAA championship games scheduled for early December at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton.
The prospect of playing at the iconic Hall of Fame Stadium has sparked excitement across the community, as the Cardinals hope to turn their fortunes around on a stage that has witnessed many memorable high school moments.
