Freshman Talent Bolsters Santa Margarita Football
Four promising freshman athletes have officially enrolled at Santa Margarita High School, joining the football program with a blend of athletic talent and academic promise. The newcomers — Aydan Steen, Kiyan Callis, Jayden Jack and Kaleb Herndon — arrive after securing multiple collegiate offers, among them a notable interest from the University of Southern California.
Their high school careers included a standout performance at the Battle at the Beach passing tournament, where they helped the Eagles showcase their playmaking abilities. Coach Carson Palmer, who led the team to a CIF‑SS Division 1 and CIF State Open Division double championship last season, indicated that the freshmen may see early‑season action as the squad looks to maintain its momentum.
Championship Pedigree Meets New Blood
The program is slated to compete in a preseason tournament at Mission Viejo, a test that will give the newcomers a chance to gel with returning starters. Community excitement is building, as the Eagles aim to blend their championship pedigree with fresh energy in pursuit of another title run.
With a strong foundation and a recruiting class that brings both skill and ambition, Santa Margarita’s football team is positioned to continue its recent dominance while introducing new faces to the field.
