The Vermont Basketball Coaches Association announced this week that Sarah Roy has been elected President, marking a new era of leadership for the organization that has long championed high school basketball across the state.
A legacy of championships
Roy’s tenure at North Country Union High School is punctuated by a 110‑17 record between 2021 and 2026, highlighted by Division II state titles in 2021 and 2023. Her consistent excellence earned her VBCA Division II Girls Coach of the Year honors in 2023 and 2025, as well as League Coach of the Year recognitions in the Lake and Capital Leagues.
Beyond the court
Beyond her high school responsibilities, Roy founded Kingdom Storm AAU Basketball, directs the Legacy Basketball Camp, and serves as Referee Coordinator for North Country Junior Hoops. These roles reflect her commitment to developing talent at every level and to fostering a vibrant basketball ecosystem in Vermont.

As President, Roy plans to expand coaching education programs, increase youth participation, and strengthen partnerships with community organizations.
