Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian opened up about the Longhorns’ preseason workouts, describing the offense as ‘sloppy’ after a stretch that produced four turnovers in just 120 plays.
Amid the criticism, Sarkisian highlighted second‑year quarterback Arch Manning, noting that the youngster’s passing numbers jumped from 207 to 285.7 yards per game and his completion rate climbed from 60.3% to 62.3% during the 2025 campaign.
Manning’s development has been bolstered by his chemistry with the team’s top receivers — Cam Coleman, Ryan Wingo and Emmett Mosley V — who have become frequent targets in practice.
On the line, the Longhorns are evaluating several moving parts; Andre Cojoe has been slotted as the third tackle, while Trevor Goosby works his way back from a knee injury, and veterans Laurence Seymore and Brandon Baker are expected to anchor the starting guards.
Another name generating buzz is Jonah Williams, a former five‑star recruit who has impressed on special teams and is slated to play a pivotal role in the 2026 season, prompting Sarkisian to urge the quarterback to ‘get better’ during the final two weeks of camp.
