A Tradition Renewed
On May 22, the Savannah High baseball team journeyed to Atlanta to attend an Atlanta Braves game, continuing a tradition that began the previous year and reinforcing the program’s commitment to experiential learning.
The stadium was packed with 36,082 fans as the Braves faced the Washington Nationals, a contest that stretched into extra innings before the home team edged out a 5‑4 victory.
The decisive moment arrived in the 11th inning when Eli White crossed home plate on Chadwick Tromp’s two‑out single, sealing the win and sparking cheers from the young audience.
Coaches Reflect on the Experience
Coaches Moses Green and Robert Bryan expressed deep gratitude to the families, school staff and community members whose support made the trip possible, emphasizing the lasting impact of the outing on the students.
For many of the players, the game offered a first‑hand glimpse of professional baseball, turning a simple outing into a memorable milestone in their athletic development.
