Scotland's squads gear up for Commonwealth Games
Team Scotland has revealed the line‑ups that will represent the nation in both the 3×3 basketball competition and the wheelchair basketball tournament at the upcoming Commonwealth Games.
The men's 3×3 roster features veterans Kyle Jimenez and Fraser Malcolm, who will be making their third appearance at the Games, alongside newcomers Owen McCormack and Skyler White, forming a balanced mix of experience and youth.
Veteran presence and fresh faces
On the women's side, Claire Paxton and Hannah Robb return for a second consecutive Commonwealth Games, while Kirsty Brown and Ella Doherty earn their first call‑up, adding fresh energy to the squad.
The wheelchair basketball squads also boast a strong contingent of athletes, including Kayli English, Robyn Love, Lea Smith and Jodie Waite on the women's side, and Tyler Baines, Ross McConnell, Finlay Erskine and Shayne Humphries on the men's side.
Coaches bring experience
Coaching responsibilities are split between Gareth Murray, who will guide the men's 3×3 team, and Donnie MacDonald, overseeing the women's 3×3 side, while Robyn Love takes on a dual role as a player and coach for the women's wheelchair team, with Mark Stevenson leading the men's wheelchair side.
Jimenez spoke of the excitement of competing on home soil, noting the support of friends and family, while Paxton highlighted the increased competitiveness of the tournament and the freedom it brings to her game.
Erskine described the event as the pinnacle of wheelchair basketball for Scotland, emphasizing the opportunity to showcase the sport at its highest level in front of a home crowd.
