Retired Southern Miss baseball coach Scott Berry has been selected for induction into the American Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame, a testament to a career that reshaped the program over 14 seasons.
Berry’s tenure at the University of Southern Mississippi culminated in 528 victories, nine NCAA Tournament appearances and two Super Regional berths, achievements that placed him among the most successful coaches in school history.
A Milestone Career
During his time in Hattiesburg, Berry guided the Golden Eagles to seven consecutive 40‑win seasons and produced four Ferriss Trophy winners, the award recognizing the nation’s top collegiate head coach.
His teams also captured four league Coach of the Year honors, while he mentored four assistants who later earned the same distinction, underscoring his impact on player development.
Hall of Fame Induction
The induction will take place at the ABCA Hall of Fame Banquet on Jan. 8, 2027, as part of the 83rd annual ABCA Convention in Nashville, Tennessee.
Berry will join an elite group of coaches whose contributions have shaped the sport at the collegiate level, an honor he describes as the pinnacle of his professional journey.
The ceremony will be attended by former players, colleagues and members of the ABCA, celebrating not only Berry’s win‑loss record but also the lasting influence he has had on student‑athletes and the broader baseball community.
