Scott Berry, the longtime Southern Miss baseball coach, will be inducted into the American Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame during the organization’s Hall of Fame Banquet on Jan. 8, 2027.
Berry spent 14 seasons at the helm of the Golden Eagles, compiling 528 victories and guiding the team to nine NCAA Tournament appearances and two NCAA Super Regionals. He also presided over seven straight 40‑win seasons, a testament to his consistent ability to field competitive squads.
Accolades and Impact
His achievements earned him four league Coach of the Year awards and the mentorship of four assistants who later captured the same honor. Under his guidance, 16 players received All‑America recognition, including a national Freshman of the Year and a national Pitcher of the Year.
Berry’s influence extends beyond the box score; he helped shape the culture of Southern Miss baseball and contributed to the program’s reputation as a breeding ground for talent. The induction represents the highest honor bestowed by the ABCA, underscoring the lasting imprint he has left on the sport.
