A New Hub for Pickleball and Basketball
A sleek outdoor complex has officially opened at Nay Aug Park in Scranton, adding eight dedicated pickleball courts alongside two full‑size basketball courts.
The courts sit adjacent to the newly constructed community room and the park’s fresh pool, creating a compact hub for active recreation.
City officials say the $1 million project was financed through a municipal grant and the Capital Budget Fund, underscoring a commitment to modernize public amenities.
Dana Force, Director of Scranton Parks and Recreation, emphasized the complex’s role in launching pickleball clinics and basketball lessons aimed at getting more children involved in healthy pursuits.
Park managers anticipate the venue will attract new programs and serve as a gathering point for families throughout the summer, especially as the pool prepares to open its doors.
