2026 Season Preview
The Seacoast region of New Hampshire and Maine is buzzing with anticipation as 13 high school boys soccer programs gear up for the 2026 season. Each team is focused on development, leveraging experience, and aiming to climb the standings within their respective divisions.
At Dover High School, Coach Matt Glode enters his second year with a 5-13 record but a promising core that includes center back Ben Breen, goalkeeper Ronan Tullis — a Division I all‑state honorable mention and team captain — and midfielder Oliver Davis. The group hopes to build on last year’s lessons and push for a stronger finish.
Exeter High School’s Coach Dan Curran, who posted an 11-5 record last year before falling to Nashua South in the quarterfinals, returns six starters, highlighted by Division I all‑state second‑team selection Reid Labroad. The returning lineup is expected to provide continuity and added firepower.
Portsmouth High School’s Coach Eric Martens, who finished 4-12, is determined to lift the winning total, while Spaulding’s first‑year Coach Lenny Mazige is emphasizing an attacking style despite a 0-16 debut. Both programs are working to translate strategy into results.
Winnacunnet’s Coach Nick Rowe, sitting at 4-11-3, is targeting first‑round playoff hosting, and Oyster River’s Coach Danny Watson, who posted a 17-1-1 mark, is excited about new players’ skill sets and the chemistry they bring to the squad.
Somersworth’s Coach Joe Smith, in his inaugural season with a 2-14-1 record, is rallying a motivated roster eager to prove itself, while St. Thomas Aquinas’ Coach Ethan Rech, also 17-1-1, aims to showcase the seniors’ potential after capturing the Division III championship.
Newmarket’s Coach Kenny Najem, who finished 15-2-1, expects a competitive year with a group of returning starters, and Portsmouth Christian Academy’s Coach Josh Chamberlain is focused on finishing among the top eight and securing a playoff game at home.
