Seattle’s offense, operating out of 12 personnel, posted an adjusted net yards per pass attempt of 9.3, placing it among the league’s most efficient units. The team also topped the NFL in play‑action efficiency, averaging more than 10 yards per play‑action pass, a testament to the play‑calling of offensive coordinator Brian Fleury and the versatility of quarterback Sam Darnold.
Health has been a cornerstone of the Seahawks’ success, as the franchise ranked third in Adjusted Games Lost, indicating that key contributors such as Charles Cross, Jalen Sundell and Cooper Kupp have avoided long‑term injuries.
The ground game has been equally impressive, with the offense leading the league in broken and missed tackles. Running back Kenneth Walker III was a major factor, consistently converting short gains into big plays.
Even with a high volume of throws, the Seahawks kept the ball clean, posting the fourth‑lowest drop rate in the NFL at just 14 drops on 435 attempts. Quarterback Sam Darnold also ranked eighth‑lowest among starters in knockdowns, a sign of solid protection from the line.
The receiving corps contributed to the low drop figure, with players like Zach Charbonnet and Jaxon Smith‑Njigba running precise routes. In the secondary, the team boasted three of the 15 best coverage corners by DVOA: Riq Woolen, Devon Witherspoon and Josh Jobe, while Nick Emmanwori anchored the nickel.
On the defensive line, DeMarcus Lawrence led the edge rush with 23 defeats, 54 pressures and 13 quarterback hits, while Leonard Williams and Byron Murphy II each generated 39 pressures and ranked among the top 20 run stoppers.
Mid‑season acquisitions added depth; Ernest Jones proved to be a reliable coverage linebacker, tying for 13th in defeats across the league and ranking 14th at his position in pass coverage DVOA.
Special teams also shone, as punter Michael Dickson posted the best gross punt value over average in the NFL at plus 8.3, and kicker Jason Myers emerged as the league’s leading scorer, ranking second in gross kickoff value and first in net points.
